Online giving is available in Ghana only, for now
Members of churches in Ghana can give by mobile money or card, through a licensed payment provider's secure checkout — card and mobile money details never reach ChurchVex. We're working to bring online giving to more countries. Everything else in ChurchVex works wherever your church is — including recording every gift by hand.
Fees on online gifts: ChurchVex keeps a 2% platform fee on each gift made online, and the payment provider's own processing fee also applies. Both come off the gift before it is paid into your church's account. Gifts recorded by hand carry no fee.
Are prices in Ghana Cedis?
Yes. Every plan and SMS package is priced in Ghana Cedis (GHS). If your church pays from another country, your bank or mobile money provider converts the amount at checkout. Your own church records — tithes, offerings, expenses — are kept in your own currency.
What does the free trial include, and what happens when it ends?
Every feature, for up to 50 members, with 200 MB of file storage, for one month. There is nothing to pay and no card to enter. When the month ends you keep full access for 7 more days, then read-only access until day 30, and then the account is suspended until you choose a paid plan. The trial comes with no bonus SMS credits; like every plan, you buy SMS credits separately when you want to send SMS.
What happens if we go over our member limit?
Nothing is deleted and nothing stops working. There is a small grace margin above your limit, and ChurchVex warns you as you approach and pass it. Beyond that margin, you can't add new members until you move to a larger plan — everyone already recorded stays exactly as they are.
Can we change plan later?
Yes, from the Subscription page in ChurchVex. Moving up takes effect straight away, and you pay only the difference for the rest of your current term. Moving down costs nothing today: you keep your current plan until the end of your term, then renew onto the smaller plan at its price — as long as your member count fits it. You can also cancel at any time. Cancelling changes nothing straight away and nothing is refunded: your church keeps its current plan until its existing end date, then has full access for 7 more days, read-only access until day 30, and is then suspended. You can renew whenever you like, even after suspension.
How do SMS credits work?
SMS is paid for separately from your plan, with credits you buy inside ChurchVex. Paid plans include a one-time bonus of SMS credits on your church's first paid subscription. Credits don't expire: they stay on your balance for as long as your church has an account. You can see your balance and every message sent on the Credits page.
Can our members give online?
Online giving by mobile money or card is available to churches in Ghana today, with more countries to come. Each online gift carries a 2% ChurchVex platform fee, plus the payment provider's own processing fee; both come off the gift before it is paid into your church's account. Gifts you record by hand — cash, envelopes, bank transfers — carry no fee, and you can record them wherever your church is.
